Plain English, because nobody reads the long version. This covers what GWAN is, what it stores about you, who can see it, and how to walk away.

What GWAN is

GWAN is a small app for a close circle of friends. It shows your crew whether you are driving, free, busy, or off, and lets anyone in the crew nudge you into a FaceTime or WhatsApp call with one tap. It is not a social network, and it is not trying to be one.

What we store

To make GWAN work, we keep:

• Your name and phone number
• Your current status (driving, free, busy, or off) and when it changed
• Timestamps like when you were last seen in the app and when someone GWAN'd you
• Which crew you belong to

That is the whole list. We do not ask for a password, an email, or a photo.

Who sees it

Only the members of your crew can see your name, status, and phone number. Nobody outside your crew, and nobody at GWAN, looks at this on a routine basis.

No ads, no selling

GWAN carries no ads and does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. It exists to help friends call each other, nothing more.

How to delete your data

Email dan@strohl.dev and ask to be removed. We will delete your account, your status history, and take you out of your crew.
